Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) is celebrating 50 years in the West this year. Known as “the Yoga of Awareness,” Kundalini Yoga is a meditative practice that changes with each class, each kriya (set of exercises) and each meditation. The asanas are generally quite different from a vinyasa-type practice and often include movement, a specific breath, a drishti (eye focus), a mantra (repeated syllable, phrase or chant) and even a mudra (formation of the hand)…and the movements and/or meditations are held for longer times.
Each class will also include a long, relaxing savasana with gong bath and a meditation. This is a series designed to be an introduction to this once-secret, sacred practice which welcomes beginners, teachers of other types of yoga, and anyone who is curious about Kundalini Yoga - no prior experience necessary. Just bring an open mind and a willingness to take a deep dive inside yourself!
$22 per session (15% off for YYF Members, call to register with discount)
